Baked

Culinary School.

It seems obvious.  You want to cook, you have to learn how to do it.  Schools teach you things, so for cooking you go to culinary school, right?

Maybe.

It turns out there's a pretty huge divide amongst those in the know as to whether it's worth it or not.  On the for side there are mentions of famous alumni, connections, and opportunities.  On the against side there are comments about it being a waste of time and finance and ending up in the exact same place you would be anyway except $40k in the hole.

What's a girl to do?  Both arguments have merit.  If I'm going to have to wash dishes for two years before I'm allowed to touch a pie, then shouldn't I start that sooner rather than later?

But what if Julia Child had never gone to Le Cordon Bleu?  Would she have found her passion anyway or would the world have been deprived of Mastering the Art of French Cooking and The French Chef?

Sadly, eating two cream puffs did not help me decide.  But aren't they scrumptious?

The one on the right is covered in chocolate ganache, the left is chocolate glaze.  Both are delicious and deadly.  AND I MADE THEM.
